1. Is UniTechnology software secure, and is it safe for customers to buy from my website?

Yes.  All UniTechnology products have undergone rigorous security testing.  What’s more, all our products run as desktop applications so you are not sending information across the Internet as often as you would do with Internet based services.

All the UniTechnology servers used to provide our services are located behind Cisco Secure Pix Firewalls. These servers are kept up to date with security patches to ensure maximum protection.

We only partner with credit card payment processing partners of the highest standard and with exemplary security records.  All payment processing is fully encrypted using the latest SSL encryption technologies.

2. How many products can I sell? 

You can sell up to 20,000 products.

3. Do you supply hosting services?

Yes, all websites can be hosted by UniTechnology.  We provide a range of hosting services applicable to the software you have chosen to use.

The UniTechnology hosting services include web space, email with anti-spam and anti-virus protection as well as reports to view visitor traffic information.

4. Can I see visitor traffic reports?

If you host your website with UniTechnology, visitor traffic reports are provided as part of that service.

5. Can I accept online debit/credit card transactions?

UniTrader integrated with a number of leading Payment Service Providers to enable you to safely and securely take debit/credit card payments online:

6. What do I pay to get my site up and running?

You can download and start using UniTrader and UniWebsite without any charge.  This means you can evaluate if UniTrader or UniWebsite is right for you before you pay anything.  You can even create your entire online shop or website. 
When you’re ready to publish your website, you can purchase a License, and after that you just pay for the hosting service. 

Hosting fees vary dependent on which UniTechnology product you are using.  The UniTechnology hosting services include web space, email with anti-spam and anti-virus protection as well as reports to view visitor traffic information.

UniWebsite Lite is free software and comes with a fee hosting period too.

If you’d like to take credit card payments online, you will need to setup an account with a Payment Service Provider.  The prices and charges for each Payment Service Provider vary, and we recommend you evaluate each of our partners to determine which service is most appropriate for your business.

 7. Do I have to host my website with UniTechnology?

UniTrader websites can be hosted only by UniTechnology. 

UniWebsite can be hosted by any hosting provider.  To use hosting with a different provider you must enter the hosting information, which includes:

  • The Host address
  • The FTP username
  • The FTP password

8. Do I need to know html?

No.  You don’t need to know any html or programming whatsoever.  All our products have been created specifically for business owners who don’t have programming skills.  They are very easy to use so building your website is a quick and rewarding experience.

If you do know html and want to use it for advanced formatting capabilities, you also have the ability to do so.  

9. Do I need a domain name?

Yes.  All websites need a domain name and yours will be no different.  If you already have a domain name which you’d like to use, that’s absolutely fine too.

When you are ready to publish your website you can select the domain name you’d like to use.

If you already have a domain name, you must indicate during the registration process that you already have a domain name and enter your domain name.  Next, make a request to your Registrar (the agent/organisation you registered your domain with) to point your domain name to our hosting facility. 

To point your domain name at our hosting facility so it can be used by your website, the company that registered your domain name will ask you for UniTechnology’s web address (someitmes reffered as 'IP Address' or ‘A record’).

10. Can I create as many pages as I like?

Yes.  Your website map is pre-populated for you so you don’t have to start from scratch.  This gives you a good head-start so you can begin entering your content straight away.

You can add, edit and delete as many pages as you like to your Website Map.

You can select new pages to be added to your Website Map from the Page Library, and you can rearrange the order of your Website Map to suit your requirements.  

11. Can I change the layout of pages?

You can change the layout on all your pages.  It’s very simple to add or remove page sections and change the layout of page sections for a page.  You can select from a range of page sections to display different types of information, such as Image and Text, Featured Products Lists, Search etc. 

Use the Page Layout tool to drag and drop page sections to achieve the layout required.  

12. What Support is available?

You can make support request by using the Support Request Wizard for immediate and direct contact with our support team.  Telephone support is provided Monday – Friday, 9.00-5.00, with all emails and Support Wizard tickets responded to within 24 hrs.

 13. Can my website be ranked by Search Engines?

Yes.  We have undertaken testing to ensure the websites produced using our wide range of templates can be submitted to and ranked by all leading Search Engines.

You can enter specific information for each page to be utilised by Search Engines, which will afford increased visibility on Search Engines.

14. What browsers will my website be compatible with?

All our website templates undergo rigorous testing to ensure they are compatible with the following browsers:

  • Mozilla FireFox 1.5+
  • Opera8+
  • Netscape 7.2+
  • Safari 1.2+
